The Effects of Wind-Driven Storm Events on Partly Sheltered Estuarine Beaches in Batemans Bay, New South Wales, Australia

چکیده
Extreme wind-driven storm events have the potential to erode beach systems. Along East Coast of Australia, been responsible for erosion in many coast-facing, open beaches. This paper investigates impacts storms on partly sheltered estuarine beaches—a niche found within Batemans Bay, New South Wales (NSW), along Coast. It combines geomorphological data with meteorological and oceanographic evaluate large three embayed beaches (Cullendulla Beach, Corrigans Maloney’s Beach). The results show that while are protected from some events, may vary season due wind speed direction changes, presence nearby rivers or creeks, anthropogenic modifications such as dredging coastline alterations. study contribute understanding erosive help improve management strategies used prevent recession, particularly

Estuarine Development and Human Occupation at Bobundara Swamp, Tilba Tilba, New South Wales, Australia
In Australia little direct information about past human activity has been obtained from wetlands, but they are a valuable archive of change through time against which the archaeological record from middens and rock shelters can be compared. The constant movement of small bands of hunter-gatherers has meant that there is little sign of intensive occupation, and the use of wetlands lay in their a...

fracture mapping of late permian-early triassic flat-lying sedimentary rocks in the sydney basin, new south wales, australia, shows that joints developed originally in extension were faulted in subsequentevents. joints with a regional distribution fall into two (early and late) formed groups. group i joints propagatedhorizontally and never interfered with each other. these joints were subsequent...
متن کاملThe morphodynamic responses of artificial embayed beaches to storm events
The morphological changes caused by storm events in two Barcelona beaches were recorded using video monitoring techniques during the period 2001–2006. Changes in shoreline position and configuration and submerged bar position and shape were analyzed during the 25 major storm events that occurred during the study period. Beach responses to storms were grouped into three categories: shoreline adv...
